SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, as a result of an international competitive commercial tender, has been selected by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) as the Fund Manager to manage the Innovations Against Poverty fund (IAP) from September 2016 until August 2020. The overall purpose of IAP is to support entrepreneurs financially and technically to develop innovative Inclusive Business models in Cambodia, Uganda, Zambia and Ethiopia that deliver both commercial benefits for the private sector and developmental benefits for the low income people, in terms of job creation, income improvements and availability of more affordable goods and services.
IAP’s largest portfolio is in Ethiopia and the support for the successful fund management and advisory need for the IAP investees in the country is therefore huge. Hence, SNV is seeking to recruit junior inclusive business advisor that can support the portfolio management under the IAP Ethiopia portfolio coordinator at the same time gain professional experience in the inclusive business and fund management fields by being part of an international team implementing IAP2 Fund.
Responsibilities
· Assist IAP Ethiopia Portfolio coordinator in fund management: timely tracking disbursement timelines, and conducting preliminary review of submissions and provide support for investees
· Assist in monitoring, learning and evaluation activities, including the development of case studies, fact sheet lessons learnt of good practices
· Support in organizing training events and the development of the training content
· Assist the advisory and investment match making work under the leadership of the IAP ET portfolio manager
· Any other duties that may be assigned by IAP2 Management
· University graduate: economics, business, finance, international commerce, international development, agronomy, etc.
· Minimum two years full time work experience in a relevant area with private sector development related projects in Ethiopia in ING-Os setting
· Interest in private sector development and fight against poverty and inequality
· Initiative and creative in solving problems
· Ability to work independently and with the team
· High degree of initiative, flexibility, reliability, discretion and willingness to learn;
· Good oral and written communication skills in English.
· Solid computer skills in Excel and Power Point
Willing to travel to other provinces
