Overview of the role:
The Technical Officer is responsible for providing all technical support for Camara’s Operation, including the physical and logical network Infrastructure of the office LAN and organizations IT assets, and providing Technical Support & Maintenance to customers. The Technical officer position may require extensive fieldwork.
Responsibilities/Specific Job Duties
Provide technical training for our Customers, including educators and volunteers
Deploy Operating system and educational package to the computer to be dispatched
Provide maintenance and support to Schools, locally or by going to regions
Provide Office Network and IT support to all Camara staff
Provide Lab setup and Networking support and standard for schools
Producing technical documentation, such as manuals, procedures and step-by-step instructions for the following:
Lab Standards
Physical and Logical Network diagrams
Installation and Configuration Instructions

Specific Technical skills required include:
Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
Replacing parts as required;
Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
Supporting the roll-out of new applications; and
Testing and evaluating new technology.
Education Qualification:
Computer Science/Information/ Information Technology/Computer Engineering BSc Degree (1-3 Years)
