Position Description:
The Senior Business Advisor will:-
· Oversee and manage TechnoServe’s Meti office and related administrative responsibilities, including serving as the Safety and Security Focal Person
· Cultivate and manage relationships with local stakeholders, including public and private sector market system actors at the zonal, woreda and kebele levels
· Oversee and support the cooperative capacity building work streams, including organizational, operational & financial management capacity of cooperative(s) in Godere and Mengeshi woredas and newly established Union to improve performance and better serve male and female members, with a focus on sustainably increasing members’ incomes. This requires training, coaching and supervising Business Advisors, Associate Business Advisors, Interns, FTs, Finance and admin assistant and drivers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Meti Office and Project Administration
· Manage administration and upkeep of Project Office in Meti, and related reporting requirements as well as the project vehicles and motorbikes in collaboration with Admin and Finance Assistant
· Actively monitor costs; approve expenditures for all BAs, ABAs, FTs, Admin and Finance assistant and driver(s) operating in Meti and Mengeshi woredas. and work with finance team to report on and adjust budget as needed; follow up on internal payments
· Regularly visit client sites and stakeholders and provide feedback on progress and challenges Manage relationships with Zonal and Woreda level stakeholders, including NGOs operating in the project area
· Manage and ensure a smooth, effective relationship with MELCA at the field level, including conducting monthly TNS- MELCA meetings with minutes
· Actively advance Project’s gender goal and gender strategy, looking for opportunities for improvement
Serve as the Safety and Security Focal Person for Meti and monitor safety and security, according to the Safety and Security Country plan; update the Meti office safety and security plan
· Support MEL coordination and Training BA
Manage Project staff based in Meti
· Oversee and ensure ongoing effective HR management of entire field team; create and maintain a positive team morale and step in to support any conflicts as needed and ensure the team receive necessary support on HR, financial and administrative matters, as required, including ensuring timely and accurate time reporting, including accurate vacation day tracking
· Working with the Project Manager, develop overall, holistic project work plan, monitor overall progress and update/adjust accordingly
· Promote learning within team and within TNS Ethiopia through sharing key issues related to the Program, its management and effectiveness; ensure participation in quarterly regional staff meetings
Strengthen Cooperatives
· Supervise and coach direct reports supporting their effectiveness to the program as well as their professional development; Ensure high performance of direct reports, providing coaching and regular constructive feedback, including during the annual performance review process and support staff to achieve their annual performance goals
Report
· Receive and follow up Weekly 5-15 reports; develop and circulate own weekly 5-15 reports
· Collect project progress update/ data from BAs, organize (edit and add additional information in any) and send it to the Project Manager in a timely manner
