Bread for the World/Protestant Agency for Diakonia and Development (PADD): The Protestant Agency for Diakonia and Development (PADD) is an international development agency owned by the Protestant Churches in Germany based in Berlin. One of its regional offices is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, registered as an international NGO with the Federal Republic of Ethiopia Charities and Societies Agency, registration number 1295. PADD works through a great variety of faith based and secular civil society partners around the world whom they share similar values. The Horn of Africa Regional Office (RO) works with partners in Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan. The main thematic areas of PADD are: (1) food security and agriculture, (2) rural development, (3) essential resources/ecological dimension of sustainable development, (4) civil society support, (5) basic social services and (6) conflict management and peace building. In the framework of its partnership, PADD has been co-financing one of the programs implemented by Life and Peace Institute.
Life and Peace Institute: Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international and ecumenical center based in Sweden that has been working with peace and conflict issues for the last three decades. LPI runs conflict transformation programs in the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes regions in partnership with local civil society organizations and universities. LPI has also been strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to address conflicts in their local context, in some of the most difficult and war-torn countries. Its regional program is administered from the office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
PADD is seeking a consultancy firm with a special expertise on peace to carry out an external evaluation for “From Local Voices to Regional Policies” project being implemented by LPI to provide independent assessment in terms of its efficiency, effectiveness, impact, relevance and trend for sustainability. The purpose of the evaluation is to measure the success of the program against its objectives and indicators.
