Training on Village Saving and Loan Associations, (VSLA) Business and Cooperative Management for LWF Staff
Background:
LWF World Service Ethiopia is a foreign charity organization operational in Ethiopia since 1973. LWF has extensive work experience in emergency and post emergency refugee assistance programs in Assosa, Gambella and Jijiga refugee camps. In 2018, LWF World Service Ethiopia is present in Assosa, Gambella and Jijiga refugee camps working in areas of Community Based Psychosocial Support, livelihoods and water supply services that are the major areas of specialization for the organization.
Currently, with the financial assistance from Bureau of Populations Refugees and Migration (BPRM), LWF is implementing a livelihoods support project in Aw-bare and Shedder refugee camps. In order to provide the required service for the refugees and the host community LWF World Service Ethiopia plans to build the capacity of its staff through training. Therefore, LWF would like to hire a short-term consultancy for staff training on VSLA, business and cooperative management.
Objective:
The objective of the consultancy work is to increase the understanding and skills of LWF field staff on VSLA, business plan and management and cooperative management topics. The total number of training participants will be up to 10 persons.
Duration of the training:
The training will be conducted for three days during June 28 to 30, 2018.
Methodology and content
The training participants will be LWF staff whose educational background is a minimum of first degree.
The methodology of the training has to follow a very simplified and easy-to-understand approach which is supported with practical exercises. The trainer is expected to us a mix of facilitation tools suitable for adult learning
