The focus of our work in the country is on vocational education, sustainable use of natural resources, land management and food security, biodiversity and forestry. Further programs enhance the development of a sustainable textile sector and renewable energies. GIZ Energizing Development Ethiopia is looking for a qualified candidate as per the detail below:

The Energy Advisor for solar will support the programme in planning, implementing and monitoring solar market development as well as solar PV installation activities as per the agreed objectives, outputs, milestones and indicators defined in the programme’s implementation plans.
She/He is responsible to establish, capacitate and build region-wide networks of solar technology value chain actors (producers, BDS providers, distributers, market outlets, suppliers, etc.) from both private and the public sectors.
Within this context, he fulfils the following tasks:
Professional advising & consulting:
§ Prepares and implements program/project interventions in result-oriented team efforts;
§ Promotes local production, marketing and dissemination of improved energy technologies;
§ Prepares and conducts training and other capacity building measures for partners involved collaborating with EnDev Ethiopia team;
§ Facilitates business development services in solar technologies for producers, promoters and marketers; Assists in planning, coordination, and documentation of meetings, workshops, and other project activities focusing on the market aspects of the technology.
§ Assist the process of selection of health centres and health posts for the installation of solar PV systems.
§ Assist the establishment of regional solar energy association
§ Assist the establishment of regional solar technical committee
§ Follow up branded solar retailers to ensure the supply of quality product and service
§ Check and approve the quality of monthly solar sales report
