ROLE PURPOSE:
To enable successful achievement of OFDA ENP WASH sub sector objective; Providing technical leadership on Emergency humanitarian repose WASH sector towards strengthening institutional and community WASH facilities and services in Afar zone two, five target districts. /
SCOPE OF ROLE:
In collaboration with National WASH unit, SCI construction department and respective WASH specialist, the role holder is expected to coordinate and lead assessment of institutional and community based WASH facilities, water sources assessment, and subsequently; design WASH facilities and technologies, formulate BOQ, coordinate construction procurement, actively engage in construction work scheduling, field monitoring and reporting based on national, local, SCI and construction industry standards and regulation. Further the incumbent is expected to facilitate integration and linkage between health, nutrition and WASH particularly promotion of hygiene and sanitation behaviour’s and practices. Not the least, WASH coordinator plan and execute local community capacity on water resource and facilities management as well as liaise with respective sector offices and administration councils for project ownership, sustainable water resource and environment management.
