Overall responsible to ensure appropriate and well-functioning IT infrastructure and communication systems are in place to efficiently and effectively support project needs. Strengthens and supports the implementation of the overall information technology system in Ethiopia within the context of MSH projects. Maintains network administration, ICT services, and IT standards for all operational areas. Supports data base management and electronic health application systems for different project activities. Supervises IT staff. Plans and conducts trainings on IT areas at all levels.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide overall supervision of the E-Health Application Systems, including working on the requirement analysis, design, and implementation of the different systems. This may include analyzing user needs, developing system requirements, designing the system, and managing or monitoring the implementation of software and hardware.
Work on creation, management and maintenance of relevant systems documentation as per the SDLC.
Manages and work with programmers, database designers and other related professionals
Liaise with Programmers/ISP in order for different software/systems to function properly.
Guide, Monitor and work as System Administrator, Database/Web Administrator.
Provide IT support to staff based at the Country Office and all project offices. This includes performing preventive and curative maintenance of IT Equipment, LAN Systems, Cleaning of Viruses PBX Systems etc.
Design and implement proper IT and data security systems
Perform IT Equipment maintenance services
Perform other duties as necessary to different projects.
Job Requirement
Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
At least 7 years work experience managing servers and network infrastructure for medium size organization
At least 2 years work experience managing IT support services unit and supervising a team of 3 or more
Training or certification in the following areas is strongly preferred:
Cisco Networking and Security (CCNA, CCNP etc),
Microsoft Networking and Administration (MCSE etc),
Server configuration and management (Server+ ),
Storage Network configuration and management, and
Structured cabling courses etc.
Preferred but not required: Knowledge and experience in MIS systems, server farm building, CISCO systems, storage systems, active directory management and related securities, knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC), Microsoft projects, case tools, database design, system development and implementation
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and spoken English.
Proven ability to structure resources effectively to meet project/organizational goals
Proven ability to develop effective working relationships and excellent organizational and prioritization skills, and attention to detail.
Previous NGO/USAID experience preferred.
Fluency in Amharic preferred
Willingness to travel to regions of Ethiopia required
