Draft legislative proposals/amendments and contribute to the introduction of legislation that will help Kifiya achieve its aims.
Provide legal expertise and support to the company services.
Assist with legal statements and queries.
Monitor relevant legal developments both nationally and internationally.
Ensure that Kifiya complies with relevant legislation
Represent the organization as assigned.
Provide legal expertise and support to staff with the preparation of legal cases;
Supervise and assist in the training of legal interns and other staff when necessary;
Identify possible strategic cases, in conjunction with the senior management team;
Produce briefing notes on legal updates and developments;
Communicate with other legal services on cases of strategic importance;
Initiate and pursue legal proceedings as required by the Company i.e., prepare writs, defenses, submissions and other pleadings both “for and against” the Company.
Advise on constitutional compliance.
Draft and/or review legal letters, contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance, as requested.
Maintain a data of the status of all court matters involving the Company.
Assist in the formulation, implementation and/or amendment of Company policies.
Draft, amend, review and/or recommend modifications to the laws and regulations governing the Company.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all work;
Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities which may arise from time to time, relevant to the post.
Maintain strict confidentiality of company information
Job Requirement
Education: A Degree in Law or other relevant fields
Experience: 6 month to 1 year of relevant work experience
