ROLE PURPOSE:
The Senior Finance Coordinator has overall responsibility of controlling all financial aspects of the Hub and is expected to deliver complete and accurate financial information to Hub Programme Operation Director (POD) as appropriate for decision making process. S/he provides overall Close assistance to Hub and Filed offices and project staff regarding management of financial, budgetary and internal Controls are in Place.
JOB SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Critical review and verify overall month end deliverables.
· Posts all GLACOS & GJs related data for Off-line offices.
· Prepares On-line Bank Reconciliation to cross check with the off-line one.
· Review the accuracy of monthly Field Office Month End Financial Reports and submit to Accounting Unit.
· Works Closely with Reporting, Accounting, Budgeting and Treasury Unit to improve field offices financial activities.
· Ensure funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures and Communicate Budget vs actuals to Budget Holders and POD.
· Communicates and/or escalates issues, including budget overspending, financial gap, and non-compliance issues in a timely manner to Hubs Finance Manager and POD.
· Assists budgeting unit and provide relevant financial data during formulation of country-wide Master budget and proposal budgeting.
· Prepare and consolidated monthly cash request forecast of the project, and forward to Treasury unit
· Consistently Supervise and manage including but not limited to payroll reconciliation, Clearance of taxes, Provident fund and both travel & program advances.
§ Make sure filed office financial documents are delivered to Addis Ababa archive on monthly basis and facilitate external and internal audit process and responds to quires raised.
§ Regularly assess filed office finance staff capacity and facilitate training and capacity building.
§ Be a true business partner to PODs and other operation staff to provide timely, accurate and relevant financial information to assist sound decision making.
MINIMUM QUALFICATION AND EXPEREINCE
· BA degree in accounting or equivalent combination of related education
Knowledge skills and ability
· Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices, flexibility in working long hours and ability to work with incoming surge teams;
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
· Fluency in written and spoken English;
· Teams, in the event of emergencies
