Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is a pan African organization, which was founded in 1992 by five prominent Women Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Deputy Ministers of Education to advocate for gender equality and equity in education in Africa. FAWE envisions a world in which gender disparities in education are eliminated and all African girls have uninhibited access to education, stay until completion, and perform well.

Currently, FAWE Ethiopia is registered as an indigenous, non for profit Ethiopian resident charity and governed by a General assembly composed of women educationalist and heads of the FAWE Ethiopia sub chapters and represented on a daily basis by an elected 7 member board comprised of all women educationalists.
