BBC Media Action is an international development charity. Established in 1998, the organization seeks to reduce poverty and provide information to people around the world through media programmes that connect, inspire and inform. Since its foundation, BBC Media Action has worked in developing and transitional countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe on projects that deal with issues of health, resilience, governance, education, environment, livelihoods and emergency response.
Funded by UNICEF, BBC Media Action is implementing a Baby WASH project in 4 selected woredas in Amhara and Oromia. The project period is from March to September 2018. The aim of BBC Media Action project is to support improved public health knowledge and awareness, and help to convert this knowledge into improved practices and habits. The project builds on the learnings from BBC Media Action’s current baby WASH work, which focuses on the SNNPR region. Specifically, it will target:
Primary target groups are caregivers, particularly mothers and fathers of children under 3 years of age, including pregnant women, but also opinion leaders, and influences, as well as public institutions who play a key role is establishing normative practice. The latter will be included in public discussions and featured in discussion programming.
BBC Media Action is currently intending to conduct an evaluation in four selected kebeles in the four targeted districts, to measure project impact.
Thus Research agencies are invited to submit proposals for conducting fieldwork for the mentioned project evaluation on the basis of the information provided in the Request for Proposal document.
