Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries.
Concern Worldwide has been operating in Selhad Woreda of Erer zone of Somali region and Hadelela Woreda of zone five of Afar region on humanitarian project and has always been at the forefront in the delivery of emergency response whenever children under five and pregnant and lactating mothers are affected by different forms of disasters. At present, an emergency nutrition intervention project are being implemented in both Woredas to reduce mortality and morbidity associated to malnutrition among the target groups in both locations of the two regions.
The overall objective of the projects is to reduce morbidity and mortality through the treatment and prevention of acute malnutrition, both severe and moderate acute malnutrition among children under 5 years and PLWs in.
Concern Worldwide Ethiopia Country Office, therefore, wants to hire an experienced and competent consulting firm for two monitoring SMART nutritional Survey in Selhad and Hadelela Woredas of Somali and Afar regions and one SQUEC coverage survey in Selhad Woreda of Somali region.
· Qualified Medical Doctor with MPH with experience in epidemiology and/or surveys or a qualified nurse or nutritionist with advanced postgraduate degree MPH or MSc and significant experience in community based studies including conduct of several nutrition surveys.
· Excellent analytical and statistical skills.
· Experience in SMART nutrition and SQUEAC coverage surveys methodology.
· Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English
· Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office.
· Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions and cultures.
· Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
· Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues.
· An understanding of and commitment to Concern Worldwide’s mission and values.
· Excellent computing and analytical skills including at least in one of the following: EPI INFO, SPSS, STATA, ENA Software.
· Ability to work on own initiative and to meet deadlines.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent reporting and data consolidation skills.
· Willingness and ability to travel within the Somali and Afar Regions.
· Previous experience of working in both Somali and Afar Regions is desirable.
