The Position: The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a Consultant who will be ideal for an experienced generalist who has experience in international best practice standards in recruitment, compensation & benefits, training & development whilst also keeping abreast of other HR areas.
ILRI works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, it has regional or country offices and projects in East, South and Southeast Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa. www.ilri.org

· Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration from a recognized university
· Have fluent command of English with good written and oral communication skills
· Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, creative flair and the drive and talent to excel in this role
· Fully conversant with labour and employment law and practices
· Only candidates who possess the above skills and qualities should apply. Personal qualities and attitude will outweigh experience.
Experience:
5 years’ work experience in a busy HR function Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and over 7 years’ experience in the field may be considered

Terms of appointment: This is a Consultancy job, initial appointment is for three months with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and the availability of funding.
