ROLE PURPOSE
Be responsible for Strengthening System for the Prevention and Response to Unsafe Child Migration 2018-2020 project, and ensure quality and effective implementation of the project activities at the Field Office level ; provide technical support to partners, stakeholder and SC project staff; organize and facilitate capacity building training workshops for partners, stakeholders and SC staff; participate on various base line and evaluation surveys as required; monitor partners and SC implemented activities and discuss on success and problems.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Planning and Reporting:
· Provide technical support on proposal development process and ensuring that partners got proper capacity building support on the specific thematic area and as of Save the Children’s vision and mission;
· Actively participate and provide technical support for partner’s projects on preparing annual and quarter’s action plans and ensures timely submission to the Program Manager;
· Provide orientation and technical support for partners and ensure preparation of timely and high quality quarterly and annual project progress reports on SC quarter and annual planning and report format;
· Compile partners and SC implemented quarter and annual plan and reports based on the thematic area (Child protection/ Child wellbeing) at Field office level and ensure timely submission;
· Prepare and compile quarter and annual plan and reports of projects for relevant government bodies and specific donors based on their format and requirements and ensure timely submission;
· Work very closely with country office Child Protection and Strengthening Child Friendly System and Structures managers
Coordination and Management of Projects Implementation
· Participate and provide technical support in conceptualizing and designing cost effective, innovative and high quality projects/programs to reach more children in the thematic areas;
· Ensure projects are implemented in ways responsive to communities and children in line with SCI’s principles, values, and strategic plan and following SC compliance procedures and provide guidance and technical support to partners and SC staff;
· Serve as overall budget holder for When Mum is Missing CP project and provide technical support for other projects in the Field office;
· Ensure integration of activities of different projects on the same thematic area (CP, CRG and Education) and strengthen collaboration;
· Identify gaps and provide emphasis to partners that need specific technical and capacity building support;
· In collaboration with SC project staff, facilitate on time implementation project activities based on the action plan and ensure the quality;
· Ensure active participation of children and other stakeholders in the project activities implementation;
· In collaboration with relevant SC staff, strengthen best practices and lessons learnt proper documentation and sharing system;
· Identify opportunities/ arena and share best practices and achievements that can duplicate and scale-up in other areas.
Assessment, Supervision, Monitoring and Evaluation
· In collaboration with the staff and government stakeholders, maintain strong projects’ monitoring and follow up system to measure achievements and progress toward partners and SC’s projects objectives and expected outcomes and impacts;
· Conduct monitoring and supervision of the partners’ and SC’s projects implementation and provide technical support to improve the projects activities implementation quality;
· Strengthen partners and stakeholders collaborative monitoring and follow-up system;
· Provide technical support for partners on participatory monitoring and evaluation including ensuring active participation of children.
Staff Management and Mentorship
· Strengthen team spirit and team work;
· Ensure that SC project staff and respective partners understand and are able to perform their role based on the project objectives and expected outcomes;
· In collaboration with the Programme Manager, facilitate recruitment and capacity building support of SC’s staff and consultants as appropriate;
· In close collaboration with Programme Manager, provide leadership and manage the performance of SC’s project staff.
Capacity Building
· In collaboration with all SC staff, partners’ staff, the Programme Manager, and government stakeholders, identify gaps and facilitate capacity building training and other support for partners, SC staff and other stakeholders on the thematic area;
· Arrange experience sharing media among partners and other likeminded organizations;
· Ensure that the required technical support is provided for partners and SC staff on strengthen team spirit and collaborative work among partners and SC staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· MA or BA in sociology or any relevant field.
· A minimum 6 years of relevant progressive experience, out of which 2 years in managerial positions
· Considerable experience in planning, organzing and implementing work objectives
· Experience in working in related projects in NGOs
· Highly developed interpersonal, communication and working in partnership with skills including influencing, negotiation, and coaching
· Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.
· Sound planning, report writing and documentation skill
· Training facilitation and provision skill
· Fluency in English/ verbal and written
· Commitment to Save the Children values
