Founded in 1957 in Nairobi, Kenya, Amref Health Africa is the largest Africa-based international

works to ensure every African can enjoy the right to health services by helping create vibrant networks of informed communities that work with empowered health care providers in strong health systems. Our programs, supported by 12 program and business development oces in Europe and North America, reach 35 countries. With over half a century of experience in delivering health care and building health systems in Africa, we partner with those at the heart of communities, particularly women and children, to bring about lasting health change. Amref Health Africa has been active in Ethiopia since the 1960’s and became fully operational and registered as an international NGO in 2002. We partner with the Government of Ethiopia and local stakeholders to implement a diversied health project portfolios throughout the country focusing on three key programmatic areas.
Gender and human resources for health are cross-cutting, reflected throughout the organization’s health portfolio. The organization also engages in clinical outreach interventions and emergency programs including nutrition and resilience building of affected communities.
Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia would like to recruit a consultant who will produce a video documentary with audio-visual messaging on the importance of men’s involvement in supporting women on reproductive, maternal, neonatl and adolescent, youth and child health in Afari language. The documentary will be used to raise the awareness of pastoral communities and increase the involvement of men.
Project Name: Canada-Africa Initiative to Address Maternal, Newborn and Child Mortality (CAIA-MNCM)-Project CAIA-MNCM - a four year project in Afar (March2016-March2020). The project funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and the project aims to contribute towards reduced maternal, neonatal and child mortality in 8 districts Zone 1 (Chifra, Adda’ar, Mile, Dubti districts and Samara-logia city administration ) and Zone 4 (Golina, Awra and Ewa districts) of Afar region.
The project has been working to improve the demand and quality for integrated reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH), nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in targeted communities and health facilities (HFs) in collaboration with regional health bureaus, Woreda health office , non-governmental organizations (NGO) and community members at large.
1.Competence and skills
· Proven advanced skill in documentary film making, audio-video outlets and related areas.
· Professional experience in developing filming and interviewing
· Advance knowledge of Ethiopian RMNCH, adolescent youth, nutrition, WASH, and gender issues.
· Ability to deliver on time (one moth after contract agreement is signed)
· Demonstrable professional writing and narrative skill
2.Consultancy requirements
· Registered and renewed license for the fiscal year
· VAT registration and Tin number registration
· CV with relevant experiences in filming documentaries and technical and financial proposals with clear and distinct financial breakdowns and reporting schedule.
