Context and Scope of the Position
Under the general supervision of the Site Management Coordinator and direct supervision of Site Management Senior Assistant - Emergency, the Site Management Assistant –Emergency will be responsible for the following:
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Support field level SMS activities and field team in coordination with SMS Field Officers
2. Assist in assessments of disaster affected communities, including IDP settlements, seasonal assessments, joint rapid assessments and intention surveys in the region with the government and humanitarian partners.
3. Contribute to sub-office updates on emerging humanitarian issues and gaps relating to SMS and EPC areas of intervention.
4. In coordination with the Head of Sub-Office, liaise with project partners for timely implementation, coordinated activities and efficient use of resources and logistics.
5. Support finding to weekly updates on regional SMS activities and monthly indicator report to EPC SMS Coordinator, and implement feedback provided by EPC staff on the weekly situation and monthly progress reports.
6. Support SMS project implementation through undertake distributions, hygiene awareness raising and construction works.
7. Draft field mission plans in consultation with the SMS Team Leader
8. Support logistical needs of the SMS program staff, including communication, transportation and distribution.
9. Coordinate the monitoring laborers at field sites and track material receipt, storage and delivery at sites.
10. Ensure that all visibility material required by the donors and IOM are procured and sent to the field. Also liaise with field staff to make sure these material are being used properly.
11. Assist in drafting monthly and weekly reports.
12. Comply with UNDSS security protocol and internal IOM procedures.
13. Perform such other duties as may be assigned
