Help with completing day-to-day preparations for therapy (retrieving students for pull-out sessions, copying papers, gathering and creating materials, creating PECS boards and books, etc.).
Collaborate with the speech-language pathologist to facilitate high quality small work groups or work with individuals with identified speech and language needs following through with established goals. This includes and is not limited to, planning for individual or small group instruction, organizing resources and materials, planning activities and monitoring student progress.
Work together with the speech-language pathologist to maintain and promote a positive collaborative team-based relationship.
Observe, participate and/or actively contribute to parent teacher conferences.
Participate in regular meetings with the speech-language pathologist and contribute to planning and discussion/reflection related to professional role and responsibilities.

Job Requirement
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Special Education or related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a teaching assistant in an educational setting and experience working with special needs children who require extra support is advantageous.
Demonstrated understanding of recent trends in education for students in need
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Have the understanding and the experience in positive classroom management & discipline procedures
Have the skill to support students with emotional or behavioral problems and helps develop their social skills.
Ability to manage children and cope with challenging behavior
Ability to build good relationship with children, teachers and parents

Can make decisions that are routine in nature with clearly defined procedures.
