For our WASH department in Borena - Mega, we are currently looking for the following professional:
WASH Officer/Construction Supervisor
Work Base: Borena – Mega
Availability: As Soon As Possible
Project Duration: Four Months with possible extension
Required No: 1 (One)
General Assignment: Follow up program activities, develop different designs of WASH components and supervise all contracted out construction sites/projects.
1: The construction Supervisor is Responsible for the overall implementation of the WASH technical activities (water sources rehabilitation and development, construction activities, etc)
2: Participating in water point mapping and data base establishment.
Ø Mapping of water sources/points
Ø Developing min-data base of water sources/point
3: General Situation analysis
Ø To contribute to on–going surveillance of general situation in the zone or region
Ø Complete assessment, when needed
Ø Regularly monitor the AWD outbreak/prevalence in the target area and to report to coordination team
4: Ensure internal and external coordination and representation
Ø Represent ACF in the field with local authorities, contractors, and other stake holders when needed.
Ø Attended WaSH taskforce meeting at regional level when needed
Ø Regularly reporting an input to PM on project performance.
Ø Participate in internal and external coordination meetings when needed
Ø Conduct need assessments and propose relevant technical solution to the needs identified.
Ø Participate and represent ACF-WASH department in different technical group works to gather with other partner consortium NGOs.
Ø Provide technical and professional support to partner authorities and other partner NGOs when needed.
5: Reporting
Ø Weekly and monthly reports
Ø Draft quarterly report
Ø Assessment and visibility reports
Ø Reporting of internal and external coordination,
Ø Participations in training, celebrations, workshops, and etc.
Ø Report relating to technical designs and implementations
Ø Capitalize the WaSH information of the department and the program intervention areas
The Construction Supervisor will participate in
§ Education: BSC Degree in water resource, Civil engineering , Hydraulic and Hygiene, and training/courses specific to WaSH in humanitarian contexts with a minimum of 3-years working experience or Advanced diploma in water resource, Hydraulic or civil Engineering with minimum of 6 years of working Experience.
§ Required skill: Good Experience on construction supervision and contract administration, good experience in assessment tools and knowledge of different hygiene and sanitation promotion approach and tools, water quality monitoring (public health, engineering…) interpersonal skill including:
Ø Good communication skill.
Ø Good relations with people and Flexibility
Ø Good Report Writing and Team Management
Ø Good Computer skill (word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) and Auto Cad, GIS and GPS application.
