In Ethiopia, GIZ has been working for more than 40 years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on commission of the Ethiopian Government and International Donors.
The Agricultural Mechanisation and Technology for Smallholder Productivity (AMTP) project is financed by the German Development Cooperation and implemented by GIZ. The main objective of the project is improving small-scale farmers’ productivity & incomes through mechanization and technology. AMTP is working in introducing improved agricultural mechanisation on small scale farms in the Arsi zone and will soon expand to Bale (Oromija) and West-Gojam (Amhara).
To achieve its objectives, GIZ-mechanisation project is looking a qualified candidate as per the below details.
Position: Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor
Remuneration: As per the GIZ scale

Place of Work: Addis Ababa
Responsibilities:
The incumbent is responsible for
§ The completion and management of the M&E system for the project
§ Coordination of data collection on outcomes and outputs in line with the project objectives and indicators
§ Support the development of communication and knowledge products based on impact monitoring, in close cooperation with the communication team
§ Advise the management of the programme on the steering based on the level of achievement of programme objectives and indicators
Tasks:
§ Providing quantitative and qualitative data and information for reporting and communication
Other Duties/Additional Tasks:
§ Exchange with monitoring and evaluation advisors of other GIZ programmes, especially in the field of agriculture
Qualifications and Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years professional experience in the sector of results-based monitoring (if in the domain of agriculture, this is an asset)
· Minimum 5 years professional experience in an international NGO or cooperation body
· Experience in application of participatory approaches for M&E
· Excellent command of common IT programmes, especially MS Office applications (outlook, word, excel, PowerPoint)
· Excellent command of English and Amharic languages
