Support the teacher in developing and delivering structured teaching and learning activities/lessons for individuals, groups or whole classes in the absence of a class teacher
Assist in adjusting activities and providing support according to students; responses during lessons, promotes the inclusion of all pupils in the learning process
In collaboration with the teacher encourages pupils towards mastery of the ICS Learner Profile: to work co-operatively with each other within an established discipline policy, anticipates and manages pupil behavior and promotes self-control and independence, provides feedback for pupils in relation to progress and achievements
Pro-actively communicate with the teacher for the purpose of assisting in evaluating students progress/ behavior/special needs
Actively participate in planning meetings and in team meetings when requested
Attend professional development and faculty meetings on a regular basis
Assist in behavior management under the direction of the teacher
Support in packing and preparing classrooms a few days before the beginning and after the end of school years as determined by the principal
Work with assigned teacher to ensure a safe and purposeful learning environment; selects and prepares resources appropriate to learning activities, taking account of pupil’s interests, language and cultural backgrounds.
Help with school events, and activities
Keep classroom neat and in order
Support teacher in collection and analysis of learning and behavior data
Enforce school policies and rules
Communicate disciplinary incidents to the teacher and contact parents if requested to do so
Be an active member of a Professional Learning Community (PLC)
At the discretion of administration TAs will be requested to work as a substitute in the absence of a teacher.
All TAs are required to teach one After School Activity (ASA) once per week.
Use and support inquiry methods in the classroom that lead to a deeper understanding of the PYP Units.
Assist in the design and reflections of Units with the Program of Inquiry
Assisting the teacher while giving whole group instruction
Give first aid when kids fall down or get hurt and take to the school nurse as needed depending on the situation after informing other TA’s or the classroom teacher to cover their spots and duties.
Job Requirement
BA degree in Art.
EXPERIENCE
Three years working in teaching and learning system out of which at least one year in Art classroom where s/he has experience of working with children
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Ability to create artistic ideas
Ability to take direction from the ART Teacher/Robotics Class as well as take initiative and help out where needed
adapt the love for Art into all subjects so students can learn in an engaging and exciting way
Must be able to multi-task; be productive, focused, and flexible in a creative & sometimes chaotic environment
Strong visual arts back ground or interest in the visual arts
Willingness to learn/ be a lifelong learner
Have the understanding and the experience in positive classroom management & discipline procedures
Have the skill to support students with emotional or behavioral problems and helps develop their social skills
Ability to manage children and cope with challenging behavior
Ability to build good relationship with children, teachers and parents
Effective communication skills
Basic computer skills
Be a proactive problem solver in addressing student and teacher needs
