EngenderHealth seeks applications from experienced expert to serve as National Family Planning and Maternal Health Advisor for FMOH under Family Planning by Choice Programme (FPbC). The programme is part of a partnership between DFID and Ethiopia FMoH, and aims to provide Technical Assistance and Capacity Building to the FMoH and RHBs to improve quality, equity, choice and financing for comprehensive family planning and safe abortion services in Ethiopia. This will be a local hire position financially supported by EngenderHealth/DFID with an anticipated start date of October 15, 2018. Qualified women applicants are highly encouraged to apply. JOB SUMMARY:
The Family Planning and Maternal Health Advisor for developing regions will be part of the advisor’s team seconded to FMOH, MCH directorate through the DFID funded Family Planning by Choice (FPbC) programme. The FP/MH advisor provide strategic, technical and programmatic support to FMOH, MCH Directorate focusing on reducing regional disparities and ensuring equity in the use of family planning methods and maternal health services. S/he will work collaboratively with the FPbC team, functional units within FMoH (particular FP and MH), Health System Strengthening Special Support Directorate (HSSS), Developing Regions Regional Health Bureaus (DRRHBs) and other relevant partners in enhancing equitable access to high quality, efficient and effective family planning, safe abortion and other maternal health services in developing regional states.
More specifically, the advisor provides high-level technical assistance to the director, FP and MH team leader, staffs and other relevant directorates as it relates to family planning and maternal health. S/he will work with relevant team of professionals to adopt relevant policy/strategy/guidelines/tool that address demand creation and strengthening up take of FP and maternal health services in developing regional states. Besides, s/he provides guidance and support to the Family Planning by Choice (FPbC) programme and EngenderHealth Ethiopia Country Program in areas of FP and MH Programming for developing regions.
