Role summary
Reporting to and working with Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, the trachoma program officer will be responsible for implementation of Trachoma Elimination related surveys to be conducted in Oromia region. The Trachoma Elimination Program has a robust SAFE framework and this position will primarily responsible for evaluating the impacts the SAFE program intervention has brought in eliminating trachoma from the targeted districts of the region
Detailed Responsibilities
· The Trachoma Survey officer ( Individual consultant) will be responsible for planning survey, development of survey protocol based tropical data guideline and methodology.
· Coordinate training of survey team and ensure training efficiency and effectiveness.
· Work closely with ORHB, and targeted district health offices for smooth running of the impact and surveillance surveys.
· Responsible for ensuring quality of survey data collection using smart phones, analysis and generating the survey result report for The Foundation and donors.
· Properly manage supply and logistics relevant for the survey including field survey coordination.
· Coordinate field data collection managing multiple survey teams at targeted districts of Oromia region
· work closely with internal and external partners to ensure appropriate integration and smooth running of the survey activities as well as working as part of the broader FHF Ethiopia programs team to ensure the success of the overall program
. Actively participate in the preparation, implementation and reporting of plans and forecasts in line with agreed measures and timeframes.
. Demonstrate compliance with all legislation and The Foundation’s policies and procedures.
. Undertake training as required and agreed with manager.
. Promote and model appropriate behavior to support The Foundation’s culture, performance and brand
· Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures of The Foundation and take all reasonable care that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others in The Foundation
Minimum Requirement:
Education & Experience:
· MPH or MSc in Epidemiology
Experience:
· At least 5 years relevant experience in impact surveys and research activities.
· Training and certification on tropical data methodology of trachoma survey methodology
· Experience in global trachoma mapping project conducted in Ethiopia
Required Skills, Attitudes and Attributes:
· Fluency in English, Afan Oromo and Amharic languages
· Extensive experience working for an international development or community-based organizations.
