General Assignment
Manage the entire fleet of vehicles, generators and motor-pumps, their use, their maintenance and their consumption. Manage the facilities (premises) and ensure they are well maintained.
Objective 1 : Ensure good working conditions of the fleet (vehicles, generators and motor-pumps) :
- Supervise the maintenance of the fleet at mission level;
- Assess and select mechanic at base level as to optimise cost and efficiency of service, without impact on programs;
- Check that the vehicles are adequately equipped for their use;
- Write reports on the fuel consumption and cost for each vehicle, generators and motor pumps;
- Manage the stock of spare parts and their consumption at mission level.
Objective 2 : Manage the mechanics’ activities:
- Ensure the organization of the maintenance and services
- Validate works done by the mechanic
- Follow the planning and ensure that all vehicles are appropriately serviced followed up.
Objective 3: Report and Administrative responsibilities
- Follow-up on Insurance, Licences, Registrations and other official documents for Action Against Hunger vehicles
- Report and cross-checks all vehicle movements at mission level;
- Control and review fuel consumption for all bases;
- Fill in the Fuel Consumption Report at mission level for monthly submission in the Monthly Logistics Report;
- Ensure that the office and guest houses premises are well maintained, and institute repairs required on them
- In collaboration with the Base Logisticians, ensure that the office and guest house premises in the bases are well maintained and up to required standards
- Prepare fleet monthly report of Addis Ababa office and submit within the reporting timeframe
Objective 4: Additional works
- The Fleet Manager is required to visit all bases at least once a month, in order to check that use and planning of resources is done in compliance with administrative requirements. He/she may also provide temporary support upon request from Field Coordinators.
- As part of the Capital Logistics team, the Fleet Manager may be required upon workload and request from his direct manager to support his colleagues on temporary activities.
Educational Qualifications and Skills Required:
Diploma / Level of studies: : B.A. degree in Supply Chain and Logistics Management/Business Administration or equivalent field of studies and at least 5 years’ work experience on the similar
Required skills: Team management and planning of activities – Good organizational capacity – Capable of writing reports – Knows well the intervention area.
