Job Title: WASH Professional

Duration of contract:- 3 months
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the individual WASH Professional is to deliver high quality professional service in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH capacity building projects to be implemented in 30 urban towns (20 project towns, 10 new cluster towns of innovation fund) within intended contract period.
The specific objectives includes but not limited to:
A. Prepare and submit detail work plan based on the framework of planned activities for intended contract period;
B. Plan, organize and facilitate capacity building trainings, review meetings and workshops within the time frame;
C. Produce quality proceedings and documentation of capacity building trainings, review meetings and workshops, field monitoring including best practices/experiences used for learning;
D. Provide technical support for the end-term/final project evaluation process including development of 20 towns project exit strategy, terms of reference and related working document;
E. Provide technical support on the final development and standardization of capacity building tool kits commissioned to Ethiopian Water Technology Institute (EWTI) in consultation with the OWNP Advisor;
F. Support WAE’s representation through providing technical WASH trainings and best experiences for partners, water utility forums and WASH platforms as required;
G. Prepare and submit weekly update , monthly and quarterly performance reports on time and expected quality;
H. Perform other related activities assigned by his immediate supervisor.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF INDIVIDUAL WASH PROFESSIONAL
In consultation with OWNP Advisor:
Provide technical support for the implementation of capacity building project in twenty towns
· Provide technical support for end-term/final project evaluation process of 20 towns including development of project exit strategy, terms of reference and related working documents;
· Plan and conduct monitoring and coaching support and documentation of good practices in 20 towns;
· Provide technical support on final development and standardization of 20 towns capacity building tool kits undertaken by Ethiopian Water Technology Institute(EWTI);
· Prepare detail work plan plans and performance reports;
· Undertake any other related to the project implementation activities assigned by WAE;
Provide technical Support for implementation of piloting cluster approach in 10 new cluster towns supported by global innovation fund
· Plan, organize and facilitate planned capacity building trainings, workshops and review meetings in 10 new cluster towns of Oromia and Amhara regions;
· Produce MoU/SPA to be signed between WaterAid, cluster-led towns, cluster towns and regions;
· Plan and conduct field monitoring and coaching support and documentation of good practices in 10 new cluster towns supported by innovation fund;
· Organize the handover of procured equipment and tools to project towns including operational training to be provided by the client;
· Undertake any other related activities assigned by WaterAid.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
WASH Professional
· Will work full-time (all working days and hours) to support WAE and shall not undertake any additional work without the prior consent of WAE.
· Shall discharge his/her duties to the best of his/her ability and work in a manner that is in line with WAE values and working procedures;
· Will produce monthly work plan and progress report on time,

· Will Provide support to WASH technical service provider to deliver the assigned assignments;
· Pay the agreed remuneration each month as per the service contract;
· Will pay daily field allowance perdiem and accommodation based on WAE pay scale when a service provider out of Addis Ababa for official field work;
· Assess the WASH technical service provider work progress on a monthly basis;
DELIVERABLES
I. Clear and detail work plan prepared for the intended contract period;
II. Capacity building trainings ,workshops, review meetings, field monitoring and coaching support delivered that aligned with best quality documentation and proceedings report;
III. Standardized and printed capacity building training tool kits ready for circulation;
IV. Project exit strategy, terms of references, MoU/SPA and project related working documents produced;
V. Documented best practices and learnings used to scale up and share to WASH sectors;
VI. Timely prepared weekly update, monthly , quarterly performance reports;
VII. Final report during completion of the service contract.
KEY QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
§ MSc degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health Science, Public Health and any other related fields with urban WASH background;
§ At least 5+ years demonstrated project management and urban WASH experiences;
§ Good knowledge of national and global urban WASH context, policy frameworks and institutional setup;
§ Proven capacity development training and workshop organization and facilitation skills;
§ Excellent English language communication and presentation skills;
§ Good level of skills in using analytical and computer software;
§ Excellent research and project report writing skills;
§ Demonstrated team work skill and ability to handle complex tasks independently;
