Scope of work/Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of Supply Chain Manager, the Assistant Mechanic will be responsible for the day to day field based vehicle maintenance and services at Melkadida Field Office premises including planning, scheduling, Maintaining services for quality programming.
Detail Responsibilities and Tasks:
· To undertake the routine maintenance and repair of IRC vehicles and mechanical equipment.
· Specifically, carry out routine checks and preventative maintenance as per the IRC’s or the manufacturer’s schedule.
· Report all vehicle or equipment defects to the Supply Chain Manager.
· Diagnose vehicle and equipment faults and repair as necessary.
· Ensure the security of all equipment, parts and tools used in the course of the job.
· Accurately record all work done and parts used in the format provide by the Supply Chain Manager.
· Correctly file all vehicle maintenance records.
· Give training & orientations for drivers, assistant drivers & guards handling of vehicles, trucks, generators & mechanical equipment's.
· Weld defected vehicle parts & other equipment's.
· Make sure the availability of consumable parts in the stock & request of it accordingly
· Maintain any vehicle electrical defects
· Do other duties as ordered by immediate supervisor.
Expected Deliverable s
· Strict adherence to the IRC’s vehicle policies and procedures, especially those pertaining to Vehicle security.
· Make ready IRC vehicles for roadworthy.
· Clean & transparent vehicle maintenance.
· Filing & documentation.
· Diploma in Auto Mechanics, General Mechanics and other relating
· 3 years work experience.
· 3rd grade valid driving license.
· Written and spoken English.
· Knowledge of Electro mechanic & welding
. Competent use of PC especially spreadsheets (format / sort / filter)
· Flexibility and willingness to work long hours if necessary.
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to organize and prioritize work.
