The Lutheran World Federation Word Service Ethiopia (LWF/WS Ethiopia) is a registered foreign charity which has been operating in Ethiopia since 1973 implementing various development and humanitarian projects in different parts of Ethiopia. Its thematic areas include promotion of food security and sustainable livelihood, sustainable natural resources management, emergency preparedness, response and rehabilitation, and capacity building. Job summary:
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is seeking an experienced livelihood expert with ample experience in refugee contexts in Ethiopia or other countries. S/he will assume a leadership role in developing the livelihoods strategy and implementation plan for refugees and hosting communities in line with the Market for the Poor approach. The Refugee Livelihoods Advisor will ensure high-quality programming and implementation of livelihoods components and activities to increase the socioeconomic status of households and their members. The Advisor would be based in the Christian Aid office supporting the refugee and host community livelihood interventions implemented by a consortium of agencies including LWF, Christian Aid and Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation (ICCO). The successful candidate will have significant field experience and will have worked with a wide range of stakeholders including community members to develop and implement results-oriented livelihood approaches.
