Reports to (Tittle) Director, Regional Program Implementation - Emerging Regions
Location: Addis Ababa
Overall Objectives for the Job:
The Associate Director of Regional Program Implementation Department - Emerging Regions (ERs) - will assist the Director of the Department in leading the advisors within the Department to effectively plan and implement program activities and meet organizational objectives. The Associate Director will assist in ensuring the planning and execution of program activities by the regional technical units in collaboration with other departments and expected to support ICAP’s emerging regional teams to plan and implement program activities, including DSD, HIV case finding, partner notification, post-exposure prophylaxis, key population services, care & treatment, adherence to retention in care, lab support, M&E and quality improvement activities. S/He will work closely with all relevant teams to facilitate communication and teamwork and assist in coordinating and harmonizing technical units’ activities and in monitoring program implementation with a focus on the 3-90s.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of Regional Program Implementation Department, he will:
· Assist in overseeing ICAP’s Ethiopia regional program implementation department - Emerging Regions
· Assist in directing the department in work plan development for technical capacity building of RHBs and site-level support in the Emerging Regions;
· Assist in coordinating activities of the department with activities of other departments and units to ensure unified and integrated support to ICAP in Ethiopia Regional Offices;
· Ensure planned program activities are implemented as scheduled
· assist in assessing programmatic requirements and capacity building needs of central and region technical teams and the institutional capacity needs of the of the Emerging Regions;
· Assist in promoting communication and teamwork among central technical teams and regional offices;
· Make regular visits to Regional teams to provide support in program implementation, monitoring, evaluation and problem solving;
· Actively participate in documentation of experiences, lessons learned, case studies and development of other technical documents;
· Assist in timely compilation and submission of reports from the Department; Assist in development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
· Actively participate in operations research and ensure that the experiences of program implementation in the field are well documented; and
· Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisors
· The incumbent may be requested to spend 75% of the time on a travel
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
MD and /or MPH with 5 years of experience in HIV/AIDS programs design, implementation and monitoring
