I. JOB SUMMARY:
Project Team Leader (TL) position is responsible to provide coordination and supervision of Maternal Newborn Child Health-Nutrition project implementation in multiple Woredas. In addition to providing overall coordination, s/he will be also responsible to directly provide technical and professional support in planning and implementing of the MNCH-N activities.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Job Responsibility 1: Planning and Implementation of Program Activities
§ Ensures that planning and implementation of the project activities are in accordance with the program principles, approaches, and procedures of the organization;
§ Works closely with other project staff and partners in planning, and implementing the project activities;
§ Ensures effective implementation of the project activities as per the set plan of action as per the donor requirement.
§ Makes sure that all plans broken down to annual, quarterly and weekly basis and same is done for by capacity building officers and facilitators;

Job Responsibility 2: Technical Support and Capacity Building
· Conduct training need assessment to identify government line offices knowledge gap and design appropriate training accordingly.

Job Responsibility 4: Monitoring and Supervision
§ Organizes and facilitates joint participatory monitoring programs with zonal and woreda partners.
§ Facilitate/Conducts joint, supportive supervision with Zonal/Woreda /MOH, Women Affairs Bureau and other government staff on the activities of MNCH-N.
§ Facilitates and encourages regular review meeting and project review schedules at all woreda levels and help the different institutions have it institutionalized commitment;
§ Together with other MNCH_N team sets project quality standards and action steps and monitor the performance accordingly;
§ Conducts regular supervision to Woredas /community groups.

Job Responsibility 5:Facilitate Learning and Net Working
§ Establishes firm and institutionalized working relationship with local officials, community institutions and other stake holders;
§ Keeps up to date the development in the sectors, including best practices examples in country and ensure ongoing personal development and learning;
§ Prepares regular project progress updates at all woredas level and discuss with representatives of the woreda;
§ Represents CARE in project Woredas level being member of the Nutrition task force and others as required;

Job Responsibility 6: Reporting, Staff Supervision, Coaching and Team Building:
§ Develops appropriate reporting formats together with the Filed Office and SRH unit team members;
§ Collects monthly and quarterly performance reports from capacity building officer.
§ Checks and confirm the correctness of the reported activities;
§ Supervises, coach and gives technical backup to capacity building Officers .
§ Conducts performance review and appraisal of the employee under his/her supervision according to the policy of the organization.

III. PROBLEM SOLVING (Thinking Environment)
Levels one and two of problem solving apply to the incumbent. The incumbent involves with daily routine activities, she/he also uses interpolative skills to pick and choose the right solution to address given problems.
A) EDUCATION/TRAINING
Required:
§ BSc Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, or other Health Science related fields
B) EXPERIENCE:
Required:
§ 5 years experience in Health related programs and community participatory project implementation
C) TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required:
§ Supervisory skill;
§ Language proficiency in written and spoken English;
§ Computer proficiency;
§ Good communication and report writing skill;
§ Knowledge of written and spoken in Affan Oromo;
§ Familiarity/training in participatory Health extension approach and Polio Eradication activities;
§ Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS and Polio eradication programs, conceptual understanding of participatory approach and sustainable development.
