Major Responsibilities
Perform appropriate flow of treasury activities
Analyze cost, benefits and trends in rates of obligations and expenditure of funds;
Checks monthly, quarterly and annual budget with actual utilization;
Monitors company budget management through liquidity measures;
Ensures that the MFI meets its short and long term financial obligations;
Prepares cash follow forecast identifying sources of finance ;
Studies ways and means to improve utilization of budget.
Prepares fund transfer letters and ensure on time delivery to branches
Develops installs and maintains budgeting systems which provide control of expenses;
Prepare annual budget guideline with consultation of the Budget and Treasury Manager.
Undertakes trend analysis of the historical financial performance of the MFI;
Establishes financial and budgetary goals, timetable, milestones and other criteria to measure achievements;
Formulates medium range detailed budget and budgetary plans to fund the implementation of programs;
Assist the Manager to prepare annual financial budget with monthly and frequently breakdown.
Prepares various financial reports and computes data for budget preparation;
Maintain and updates signatories list with bank account and branches
Prepare monthly transfer reports with date received and transferred
Prepares weekly liquidity report
Provides professional advices on matters related to budget;
Prepares report explaining causes for major budget variances.
Distributes cash funds between Head Office and Branches or between Branches promptly;
Ensure allocation/ placing funds in the interbank market within approved limits
Monitors external and internal ratios and risk parameters
Ensure cash flow projections on a regular basis for managing the MFI’s net refinancing risk;
Ensures that the MFI maintains a stock of readily available quality liquid assets in line with the cash flow projections;
Monitoring there is no cheque splitting and easing compliance
Interacts budget & treasury related issues between branches and departments.
Qualifications: Knowledge and Technical Skills:
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
University Degree/Diploma in economics/accounting/banking/management/business administration.
At least 2/4 years of working experience in relevant positions
Determined personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and manage a team
Capability and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of rectitude
Ready to comply and live up to and in accordance with the organization Ideals and Core Values
Be proficient in MicroSoft office applications
Good knowledge in economic and financial topics
Very good communication and marketing skills
