ROLE PURPOSE:
The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring that key organizational principles and approaches, such as child participation, sound M&E systems, financial control and compliance will be achieved in the period.
The position holder expected to deliver a quality implementation of primary health care and nutrition activities of RESET II consortium project. He/ She will be responsible for ensuring that lessons derived through implementation will be well articulated, documented and shared. The position holder is also expected to create and maintain a smooth relationship with Woreda sector offices, primary health care units, and health posts.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversees the implementation of health and nutrition project at Woreda and ensuring that the quality standards are met.
· Ensures effective, management, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of integrated health and nutrition activities
· Participating in health, nutrition, and/or multi-sectoral assessments as required.
· Conducts regular field visits to health posts and health centers to provide supportive supervision to the projects.
· Ensure that capacity on planning, implementation, budgeting and program management is created at Woreda level;
· Ensure that District Health Office capacity in technical knowledge, Reporting, Supervision, Logistics and Supply Management is empowered;
· Coordinate and support overall IYCF activities at woreda and kebele level
· Provide technical support for government woreda nutrition officers and health extension workers.
· Ensure indicators for quality implementation of IMCHN services are met at health facilities
· Exercise use of standard checklist to lead, supervise CMAM and SAM services.
· Strengthen the link between the health posts and health centers
· Integrate health services within and among health facilities
· Manages the project unit's implementation of MNCHN program in agreement with the project DIP and standard national guidelines
· Makes sure that the health staff, HEWs, and HDAs, have adequate training MNCHN
· Ensures the availability of job aids, reporting formats, drugs, equipment’s and supplies at district level
· Mentor and Provide on-job training for health professionals and HEWs
· Create and maintain a smooth relationship with partners and other authorities, and try to link program with the existing health structure smoothly,
· Provides technical support and training where required to all team members, outreach team including health extension workers and community volunteers,
· Organizes monthly report and report on time to the line supervisor and provides updates when needed
· Provides a regular monthly overview of supplies and drug stock
· Manages the stock levels of drugs, medical supplies, and all other materials and alert the logistics in a timely manner as more materials are required,
· Upholds the image and values of SC at all times,
· Performs other related tasks as required, like control and facilitation of vehicle movement within the project area in the field
2. Other KPIs:
· Providing orientations on Child Safeguarding for partners and project beneficiaries;
· Ensure timely reporting of any suspected/concerns on fraud and child safeguarding issues;
· Ensure timely reporting of the security situations in program implementation area;
· Ensure child participation in project monitoring and evaluation through invitation for meetings, joint supervision, workshops etc;
· Ensure for complaint are appropriately received and responded timely;
· Ensure for consistent reporting of any humanitarian situations in project implementation area;
Reporting:
· On monthly basis produce project report and summit to line/project managers;
· Monthly basis produce activities conducted on child safeguarding and report to line/project managers;
· Monthly basis produce humanitarian situation report and submit line/project managers;
· Monthly basis produce complaints received and managed and report to line/project managers;
· Prepare and submit regular activities achieved on child participation in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation and report to line managers/project manager;
· Prepare and submit feedback reports submitted to partners;
