In Ethiopia, GIZ has been working for more than 40 years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on commission of the Ethiopian government and international donors.
GIZ Ethiopia (IWaSP Program Office) is looking to recruit Senior Program Officer for protecting Lake Hawassa partnership (PLH) in Hawassa.
Job Title: Senior Program Officer
Remuneration: As per the GIZ scale

Major duties and responsibilities
· Ensure meetings of different partnership structures are effectively organized and recorded
· Coordinate communication not only between the program office and other stakeholders but also among each stakeholder
· Actively coordinate implementation of project activities on the ground in close cooperation with all stakeholders
· involvement of the private sector in the financing and implementation of appropriate measures
· Advocacy and dissemination at both regional and international level of lessons learned from the measures
· Render support in monitoring, evaluation and reporting
· Supports knowledge management as well as good public relations and documentation
· Help ensure that the partnership has high integrity standards in line with best practice guidelines
· Maintain effective records and administration of the partnership
· Conduct all other secretariat duties of the partnership and ensure they are smoothly transferred to the appropriate institution
· Other related activities as assigned
Qualification Required & Experience
· University Degree in Engineering, agriculture, environment, water and/or other related fields
· Excellent skill in reading, writing and speaking English
· Computer literacy
· High degree of initiative, efficiency, team-working, integrity and accountability
· Readiness to upgrade skills and continuous learning
· at least 5 years professional experience in a comparable position
