Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Safety Coordinator for Country Office who will be reporting to the Head of Logistics and Admin.
Dimensions of the Role
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management and oversight of safety section for the country operation. This position is responsible to develop safety management plan, conduct safety risk assessment for the country office and program areas, development of standard operating procedures and follow up of the approving process and providing, safety briefing to visitors, training and capacity building to staff members.
The position holder will work with the Regional Safety Advisor for technical input and advises.
Accountabilities
1. Management and Coordination
· Provide technical support to management and staff members of the country program on all policies, procedures, guidelines and planning for safety of staff and resources for operational and program continuity
· Evaluate, develop, review and update the safety management and contingency plans on a regular basis in compliance with global and local requirements of Plan International
· Support in planning and implementing risk mitigation strategies (acceptance, protection, deterrence) in order to improve safety within the organization;
· Ensure that all staff and visitors receive relevant safety policies and procedures in advance, appropriate briefings on arrival, and as required if circumstances change.
· Ensure that all offices and vehicles are adequately equipped with safety equipments.
1. Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
· Any other duties as directed by the Head of Logistics and Admin Department.
