In the scope of its program "Sustainable Use of Rehabilitated Land for Economic Development", more particularly the EU Support to SLMP component, GIZ is currently looking for one office guard for its Illubabor / Yayu / Metu field office to protect its premises, assets and personnel. The guard is expected to maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions with a goal of detecting, deterring, observing and reporting.

Responsibilities:
· Safety of the office in general
· Smooth, uninterrupted functioning of the office work
· Safety checks
· Reports of any event that occurs in connection with the safety of the office
Tasks:
Safety Management · Safeguard the project office at any time of the day and night watch, including office equipment, project vehicles as well as staff and visitors and guests at the office · Allow entering the premises or using an office vehicle only with proper screening and specific permission · Inform the project secretary about the arrival of visitors and guests · Keep a visitors’ book for incoming and outgoing visitors and guests · Patrol around the office and check all incoming doors in the office area · Participate in the patrol activities together with the neighbourhood citizens around the office as representative of the office · Report immediately at any time any events out of the ordinary and any disturbance that occurs in connection with the safety of the office, e.g. fire, riot or theft and damages to lamps, water pipes, and others
General Services · Wear a proper uniform · Ensure that all electric office equipment is off before going home

Other Duties/Additional Tasks · Cooperate in loading / unloading of any items going in and out of the store room · Assist in and/or carry out other project activities and any other tasks as assigned · Undertake further job training related to his/her position and duties if required

Qualifications and Experience:
· Secondary school or technical school graduate
· Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a similar position with references
· No history of theft or damage
· Personal integrity and reliability
· Afan Oromo and Amharic language skills
· Basic English language skills are considered an asset
