ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced WASH Officer to join GOAL Ethiopia, HRP Somali team and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team. You will be joining the organisation at a moving time of growth and change and you’ll be instrumental in providing support in the delivery of the Program to the organisation and its employees.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be an experienced Roving WASH Officer who will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of planned activities related to Water and Sanitation (To the standard design and construction qualities of structures) in the Programme area of GOAL Ethiopia. The WASH officer ensures that relevant local government organizations and communities are actively involved in the identification, planning, implementation and monitoring of those WASH related activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Advanced Bsc in Water Supply and Environmental Engineering, Water Engineering, Water Resource engineering, Hydraulic or related field with more than 5 years of relevant experience preferably with an NGO Setting.
Key qualities:
· Experience working on assessment, design and supervision of an emergency water supply and sanitation projects.
· Good Engineering skill for quality water scheme design and construction in rural settings.
· Good knowledge and application of CLTSH and PHAST tools and techniques.
· Knowledge of surface water (run-off) harvest, and household managed water treatment and use techniques.
· Skills to conduct water quality test and treatment of water supply points.
· Good knowledge, understanding and implementation of integrated Rural Development Programme activities.
· Strong knowledge of operational planning, budget planning and management, monitoring and evaluation and report writing.
· Ability to plan and organize work to meet individual, team and programme objective.
· Training and facilitation skill.
· Good knowledge of AUTOCAD and other basic computer skills.
· Ability to effectively liaise with government, NGOs, community leaders and other stakeholders.
· Fosters working in teams & team work spirit.
· Very good knowledge and practice of computer application.
· Excellent communication skills, knowledge of local language is advantageous
· Continually looks to improve personal skill, knowledge and work hence contribute to capacity building within the team and organization.
· Flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate.
· Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities.
· Gender sensitive.

Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary: Birr 13,919.00 per month
Pension: (11% from employer and 7% from employee)
Transportation Allowance: 10% of monthly salary
Hardship Allowance: 50% of monthly salary.
Medical Allowance: Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
