Background
As an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations, the federally owned Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its development-policy objectives.
In Ethiopia, GIZ has been working for more than 40 years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on commission of the Ethiopian government and international donors.
GIZ Ethiopia is looking to recruit an Advisor on Land Management at federal and regional level for the Support to Participative Integrated Land Use Planning and Policy (SPILUPP) Project specified below.

Responsibilities:
The main duties will be:
Tasks:
§ Plan and conduct regular meetings on technical and management committees on regional level;
§ plan and conduct public discussions of drafts of land use plans, grievance and conflict management mechanisms;
§ Support the environmental impact assessment of above mentioned integrated land use plans in the selected areas;
§ Support budgeting and implementation of integrated land use plans in selected Kebeles, Woredas, zones and regions with a focus on peri-urban spaces and
rural economic development;
§ monitoring concept and support monitoring activities by NILUPP and other implementation partners;
Communication and Networking
§ Engage actively in knowledge management, the collection of data as well as the analysis of lessons learned of the project;
§ Keep the respective partners fully informed on programme activities and problems through regular field monitoring and reporting;
§ Maintain a good and effective communication between the project’s partner organizations, GIZ, relevant public institutions, state organizations and NGOs;
§ Communicate, both orally and in writing, with colleagues and professional groups through briefings, technical and operational reports and presentations;
§ Organize and participate at workshops, seminars, field trips and study tours as assigned;
