The project:
The 15 months project is called “Intervention of socio-economic and psycho-social support to mitigate the main roots of illegal migration in South Wollo, Amhara Region”, cofunded by Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. The project is implemented in consortium with an international NGO called CCM, aiming to reduce irregular migration from Ethiopia.
The role
The psychologist of the field will be in charge of the psycho-social support activities that directly involve the beneficiaries (returnee) in all the areas of project.
Major duties
· Organize the orientation, consultancy and psycho-social support activities for returnees, under the guide of the project coordinator/manager and the senior expert of psycho-social services for migrants,
· Participate to the training activity foreseen in the project
· Identify the returnee needs and define the most adequate support (therapy or group/individual counseling)
· Prepare timely reports on each beneficiary met and works with the supervision of the expert of psycho-social services for migrants on the most complex cases
· Conduct individual psycho-social support meetings with the social worker both at the psychosocial center and in the target communities and the families involved
· Participate actively in the development of the protocol for the psycho-social support center
· Participate in data collection for the assessment on psycho-social needs of the refugees
· In coordination with the project coordinator/manager and the senior expert of psycho-social services for migrants, monitor the therapeutic support activities organized in the psycho-social support services pilot center
· Constantly coordinate with the project coordinator/ manager and the senior psychologist during the missions of the expert and through remote communication methods
· Constantly coordinate with the project coordinator/manager, social worker and expert of psycho-social services and other project teams for returnees during the missions and through remote communication methods
· Actively collaborate with the city psychosoail support team, and facilitate and attend regular meetings with the team
· Degree in psychology
· At least 5 years of previous experience in managing and provision of psycho-social support activities for individuals or groups
· Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic languages
· knowledge and working experience in the area of intervention has a plus
· Full availability to field work
· Good communication skill to work with teams, local and international partners
