Women and Health Alliance (WAHA) Ethiopia seeks a qualified applicant for the position of Research Manager for a project entitled “Piloting a customizable, user-designed information and communication technology-based approach to reduce intimate partner violence among refugees.” The project involves the design, implementation, and piloting of a podcast-based intervention delivered in the Somali refugee camps of Dollo Ado, Ethiopia to address intimate partner violencein humanitarian crises.
The project was designed in collaboration with the FondationHirondelle, Addis Ababa University, Harvard Medical School, and WAHA International. The project will be executed by WAHA Ethiopia in partnership with Addis Ababa University, FondationHirondelle, and Harvard Medical School.
The Research Manager will be hired through WAHA Ethiopia. The position offers opportunities to gain first-hand experience with intervention development and evaluation, use of qualitative and quantitative research to inform an intervention, and to be a part of an innovative project within in a dynamic organization and collaboration. This is a full-time position that will require significanttime (approximately 6-7 months during the contracted period) in Dollo Ado, Ethiopia.
The Research Managerwill work closely with academic researchers and other field staff to perform a variety tasks including, but not limited to, the following:
Podcast Development and Testing
Communication
Project Management
Availability: Must be present for podcaster training 25 November to mid-December 2018 in Ethiopia
