General Assignment: Insure the most effective use of I-T and telecommunications equipment at the base, while respecting Action Against Hunger standards and procedures and the security rules in force
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Administering the LMMS System
To be carried out according to the directives of the V3 "Kit log" (Logistics Kit)
- Administering LMMS System.
- Working with the key actors of LMMS system (Logistics, Program….)
- Oversees wireless connectivity issues between mobile devices and roaming servers in field operations, trouble shooting where necessary.
- Ensuring correct functioning of LMMS in beneficiary registration, enrollment, household updates and commodity distribution activities. Troubleshoots technical problems as they arise (including forcing the movement of filed data to permanent data repositories).
- Ensuring workstations adhere to IT standards.
- Ensuring antivirus software usage guidelines are respected, that updates are deployed at individual workstations and that antivirus protection is constantly monitored.
- Supervising the data back-up system (back-up policy).
- Installing and maintaining local networks in the bases according to standards.
- Isolating and troubleshooting network connectivity difficulties.
- Training users on the correct use of IT resources and respecting IT security rules;
- Maintaining computers and conducting daily/monthly checks to ensure that maintenance tasks have been executed;
- Capitalizing data and procedures related to the use of IT resources and networks and communicating this information upstream to line management.
2. Improve the efficiency of IT resource use
To be carried out as specify in the “Kit log” (Logistics Kit) under the supervision of the head of the logistics department in collaboration with the IT manager at head office.
- Resolving everyday user problems;
- Providing users with software support for sharing files, emails etc.;
- Suggesting IT resources that could be implemented to improve user work efficiency in accordance with ACTION AGAINST HUNGER standards;
- Checking that network equipment is operating correctly (server, ADSL modem);
- Reporting problems encountered and solutions implemented
3. Promote user awareness and train users in the use of IT resources:
- Training users on equipment and applications;
- Training users on the use of IT equipment and software.
4. Participate in the management of telecommunications resources (radio, satellite and premises)
- Ensuring that the bases’ means of communication are operating correctly and monitoring them;
- Performing regular tests on their usage;
- Monitoring communications costs.
Educational / Professional Background: Degree in Information Technology or related field (computer software and hardware, internet or telecommunication) from a recognized university/college with three years of relevant experience.

Good knowledge of the Windows operating environment (XP, Windows 7) and Microsoft Office (2003, 2010) Good knowledge of IT equipment and repairing technical IT problems - Good knowledge of networks and wireless technologies. Good knowledge of system and network security, Knowledgeable of Relational Database Management Systems – exposure to MySQL highly desirable, including the use of database management tools (such as MySQL Query Browser and Administrator).
