Are you passionate about facilitation? IRC WASH seeks Regional Learning Facilitators in Assosa, Bahir Dar, Hawassa and Mekelle to help scale solutions in sanitation.
IRC WASH (www.ircwash.org) works to strengthen the ‘systems’ that underpin the successful and sustainable delivery of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene services. By ‘systems’ we mean the policies, institutions, capacities, technologies, and finances that are vital at all levels for WASH facilities to get built, and then be operated and used sustainably. We do this by building partnerships and working with public, private and civil society actors to strengthen different aspects of the system. We call ourselves a ‘think-and-do-tank’. Generating and using new evidence on what works is crucial to our mission, this is based on first-hand experiences in woredas, zones, and regions and at the national level.
Strengthening learning at all levels is a critical aspect of our work. As part of our activities to support the USAID Transform WASH project (led by PSI), this includes supporting the Ministry of Health and regional health bureaus to strengthen learning on sanitation marketing in all regions of Ethiopia. The focus is on scaling innovative approaches to improved sanitation.
Learning Facilitators are sought to support these processes. The role involves developing partnerships at the regional level, supporting facilitation of regional sanitation marketing multi-stakeholder platforms and related documentation and learning promotion. The Regional Learning Facilitator will work closely with regional government partners and USAID Transform WASH project regional staff. Working in collaboration with regional partners they will be responsible for facilitating at least four multi-stakeholder meetings per annum and reporting against an agreed facilitation plan.
The successful candidates will be passionate about building the local enabling environment for WASH services and sanitation marketing. These are part-time consultancy positions in up to 4 locations (Assosa, Bahir Dar, Hawassa and Mekele) initially for a period of one year (up to 50 days per year) and with a possibility of extension.
Requirements for these roles are:
