ABOUT THE ROLE:
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced Community Outreach Officer for its Humanitarian Response Programmes located at Afar Asayta refugee programme with a dynamic, technically competent and motivated personality.
ABOUT YOU:
You'll be an experienced with humanitarian works with Flexible and creative approach, highly motivated and able to take the initiative and work unsupervised fosters working in teams & team work spirit, you also be engaged into the overall management of the day to day activities. You will be responsible for the overall management of GOAL’s outreach programme in the management of Community-based Acute Malnutrition in field site (Refugee Camp) through community mobilization, sensitization and education.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience on adult learning skills and counselling of mothers for essential nutrition action.
Experience in planning and organizing community outreach activities;
Experience in delivering training to community volunteers or outreach workers on screening for malnutrition using MUAC and edema;
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English; knowledge of Local language of Afar/Tigrigna is a must.
Experience in supervision of outreach activities and nutritional surveys;
Experience of providing hands on in service training for community members and volunteers and providing related reports;
Understanding of the Humanitarian response programme nature and willing to travel and live in field site, with frequent transfer from site to site.
