Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a non-governmental not-for-profit international public health organization registered under the laws of the State of Massachusetts, USA, with the registered office address 200 Rivers Edge Drive Medford, Massachusetts 02155. MSH’s mission is to save lives and improve the health of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people by closing the gap between knowledge and action in public health. MSH envisions a world where everyone has the opportunity to a healthy life.
MSH is currently implementing a project entitled “TB REACH” in the Amhara National Regional State with funding obtained from Stop TB Partnership. The purpose of this project is to identify and treat 2,565 missing people with TB in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia, where 17,000 patients are missed each year. This will be achieved by mobilizing providers in 405 previously unengaged private clinics in the region through an innovative private-public network model that combines low-cost blended learning for providers, performance incentives, and an electronic specimen referral system. Blended learning was reported to have reduced the cost and minimized worktime lost without compromising the training quality. This has been used for training health workers in public sector through the MSH implemented USAID Challenge TB Project’s support to ALERT hospital. This has benefited the health workers and the health system. However, its acceptability and utility was not evaluated in Ethiopian private health care provider setting.
MSH is, therefore, inviting qualified consultants to develop research protocol on acceptability of blended learning in private care-providers in Amhara region of Ethiopia.
