Sasakawa Global 2000 Ethiopia (SG2000) is an international agricultural development NGO operating since 1993 in Ethiopia to support the improvement of productivity and profitability of smallholder farmers by building their capacities along the entire agricultural value chain. A consortium of NGOs (Sasakawa Global 2000 Ethiopia, SG2000; Techno Serve INC (TNS), and Farm Radio International, FRI) led by SG2000 is awarded a grant from Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) to improve market led agricultural production in selected agricultural commodities in targeted woredas of Amhara and Tigray Regions. The consortium will implement the project entitled ‘Improving Market led Production of selected Agricultural Commodities in Targeted woredas’ (IMPACT) of Amhara and Tigray regions with the aim of improving income and food security of smallholder farmers and their families.
SG2000 Ethiopia is responsible for undertaking interventions strengthening the agricultural input systems and supply chain; enhancing the adoption of productivity-enhancing technologies and practices; and reducing the post-harvest loss components of the consortium project. In addition, SG2000 Ethiopia is responsible for the overall coordination of the different elements of the Project to enable the Consortium members effectively work together for the success of the Project. Techno Serve is responsible for the smallholder farmers’ linkages to structured output market. Farm Radio International (FRI) is responsible for promotion of market-oriented agricultural production in the targeted woredas through the use of innovative radio programs.
SAA/SG2000 Ethiopia is currently looking for highly qualified candidates for different positions. The employment term is on a fixed contractual basis for 36 months; renewed on a yearly basis based on performance.
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework of the Project. Specifically, He/she will coordinate the development and reporting of the qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered by the Project. The M&E officer will be based in Addis Ababa and work for both Amhara and Tigray Consortium projects under the supervision the Project Director (Deputy Country Director) while also reporting to the country thematic coordinator for Monitoring and Evaluation.
