Job Summary:
The Compliance & Legal Officer, under the supervision of Finance Director, is responsible for coordinating, documenting, reviewing and reacting upon all legal and regulatory issues. Assist also in getting different business and investment license and renewals.
Duties and responsibilities
o Attend all external legal council meetings for coordination of all required actions
o Facilitate research and coordinate with external advisers
o Manage projects related to corporate formation, dissolution, and amendments to articles of incorporation by board resolution
o Indexing and managing digitization process
o Create efficiently accessible archives for use in financing applications and auditor inquiries
o Track and organize communication and follow-up to shareholders, lenders, grantors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
o Curate grantor reporting documentation
o Select appropriate IT solution to safely archive critical corporate documents
o Manage vendor relationship for this IT solution
o Ensure regular archiving and backup
o Assist in credit customer balances & collection
o Chase default customers and take to court as the need arises
o Take necessary legal actions on post-dated customer checks
o Ensure company contracts are legally framed in their contents which keep company benefits and rights as protected.
o Ensure all documents need document authorization are authorized by DARO & respective institutions
o Ensure also stamp duties are paid properly on the respective contracts
o Work with HR unit in all labor related issues to ensure they are legally in order
o Assist HR in employee anger management, misunderstanding & compliance's
o Represent the company in all employee related legal issues at the necessary regional and federal courts
