Job title: Vehicle Dispatch Supervisor

I. JOB DESCRIPTION
The Supervisor, Dispatch reports to the CTO. The Supervisor supervises the Dispatchers. This is a leadership position and has overall responsibility for the performance and efficiency of the 24/7 Dispatch Center and section employees and the work they perform with the goal to achieve maximum reliability of distribution system and to mitigate Member concerns and complaints by providing excellent customer service. II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for the following essential functions including, but not limited to the following:
The following Supervisory duties:
1. Make relationship maintenance, communication, follow ups, and counseling with employees supervised, a priority.
2. Maintain a close relationship and an open line of communication with the Chief transport officer on all aspects of Member relations throughout the system, of employee relations and assignments, and of the status of duties, tasks, obligations, projects, plans and assignments.
3. Responsible for the personnel in the Dispatch section by training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching, counseling, teaching and performance reviews; of employees; addressing complaints to HR and Department Head.
4. Observe and direct employees in the office and field, schedules work, coordinates work processes during outages and handles personnel matters.
5. Supervise and manage the progressive operating programs for the Dispatchers
6. Develop and provide to the CTO of the sections’ annual work plan along with annual operating and capital budgets and recommends them to the Manager, Technical Services for approval.
7. Ensure employees receive and complete safety training programs.
8. Make recommendations, perform research, define best practices and policy and provide input and assistance to the Department Manager in planning for future departmental needs.
9. Proficient in written and verbal communication, record keeping, learning and using personal computers and other computer software and peripherals and to be able to use these skills as needed in an efficient manner which reflects a positive image of the Cooperative to all customers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø Advanced diploma or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields of study.
Ø 5 years’ and Above experience in a similar field with commercial, governmental or humanitarian environment.
Ø Familiar with related work.
Ø Exceptional knowledge of all resources available, i.e. cross index, CAD, paging systems, phone system, radio transmitter equipment.
Ø Exceptional knowledge of Addis Ababa’s city streets and general service area geography.

Ø Good interpersonal skills, adaptability, flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks
Ø Excellent knowledge of the geographically assigned environment
Ø Good command of written and spoken English
Ø Knowledge of transport logistics and vehicle mechanics
Ø Innovative and problem-solving skills and capacity to deliver under pressure.
Ø Strong people and client relationship skills
