Context and Scope of the Position
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Special Liaison Office (SLO) in Addis Ababa is looking for a highly competent and qualified candidate to fill the position of Transition and Recovery Senior Assistant who can firmly support the implementation and management of the Unit’s livelihood programmes and projects and support in facilitating a progressive resolution to end situations of displacement. The incumbent will be under the general supervision of the EPC Program Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Emergency and Post Crisis (EPC) National Program Officer.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
· Support the economic recovery programming for IDP, Refugee and Host Community
· Provide technical assistance to IDPs, refugees, host communities, IOM staff and partners to livelihood activities in accordance with best practice and expertise, including environmental rehabilitations, Home Gardening, vocational skill training, IGA establishment, cash transfer
· Draft work and operational plan to guide the smooth and timely implementation of project activities
· Sets specific goals and expectations and provide regular, positive and constructive feedback to staff
Support regional durable solution
· Collaborate under the supervision of EPC National Programme Officer with Durable Solutions Data Management Assistant and Durable Solutions expert to assist the TRD in better informing durable solutions efforts at a regional level
· Support coordination of the regional intention survey, focus group discussions and village mapping activities
· Cooperate with other TRD members’ research and assignments related to durable solutions at regional level if requested
· Perform related duties as needed and directed by the supervisors
Educational Qualification
University degree in Social Sciences/Development Studies/International Relations/Conflict Resolution, Agriculture, Livelihood, or related field, or a combination of training
Professional Experience
Knowledge of computer (MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook)
