Job Summary
Manage & administer all export of goods and ensure compliance to all organizational policies and procedures and monitor all financial and currency processes and transactions and manage all communication with export authorities for all required countries.
Key Responsibilities
· Study export market and potential customer and identify the best approach for prospecting
· Develop contracts with customers to ensure securing long term sales with profitable orders.
· Receive customer orders and prepare coordinate with planning and production departments to reach the proper confirmed timing and communicate it to customer
· Develop and implement the export sales strategy, general directions, and priorities
· Develop the annual sales plan including annual objectives, projects, initiatives, and budget
· Develop, implement, and improve all sales related systems including policies, processes, procedures, and work instructions
· Develop sales information system including customer data base and keeping it updated and available on time to support decision-making process
· Conduct all required researches on export and local market to identify potential needs and study competition and market buying behavior
· Forecast demand on both the long and short term to ensure the feasibility of the company strategy and plans
· Obtain the necessary licenses and permits for the export
· Handle arrangements for freight & shipments in a timely and cost-effective manner. She/He makes sure that staff members track freight movement and communicate any delays to the customer.
· The export manager also looks for opportunities to find lower cost carriers and faster shipping routes. In the event of shipment disruptions export managers work with employees to develop contingency plans or facilitate an expedited shipment. Managers must be flexible enough to resolve issues with parties in different time zones.
· Employers expect that export managers maintain good working relationships with clients, vendors and government agency representatives.
· Have regular meetings with customers to develop goodwill and address issues.
· By talking with current and potential vendors such as trucking companies, shipping carriers and customs brokers, the manager can recommend renewing contracts or switching to companies that may provide better service or charge a lower price.
· Manage the export processes and ensure compliance with foreign government laws and regulations
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English and Amharic
