Overview:
Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance (IDDS) is a five-year USAID-funded project with the following overall objectives: (1) Improve the detection of diseases of public health importance and identification of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in priority infectious diseases through an accessible, accurate, adaptable, timely, and integrated diagnostic network system; (2) Improve the quality of real-time surveillance systems for pathogens of greatest public health concern, including AMR and zoonotic diseases, and; (3) Generate evidence-based guidance and innovative solutions to strengthen in-country diagnostic networks and surveillance systems.
FHI 360 is seeking a Team Lead to be responsible for providing technical direction for innovative and sustainable models of strengthening and expanding detection (such as strengthening the supply chain systems for timely and cost efficient diagnostics supplies) and surveillance systems (such as coordinating efficient information systems to support national and international AMR and zoonotic diseases data collection and sharing platforms) for diseases of public health concerns including Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and zoonotic diseases as well as overall management of activities in Ethiopia and coordination with other project team members and partners who lead specific activities.
The Team Lead will work closely with USAID/Ethiopia to provide thought leadership and represent the project in country. This position reports to the FHI 360 IDDS lead based in Rockville, MD, USA. This position operates under the management and oversight of the IDDS project senior management team, led by the IDDS Project Director.

Job Summary / Responsibilities:
The Team Lead for IDDS in Ethiopia leads the project and is responsible for providing technical leadership and overall management to achieve the project’s objectives. S/he is also responsible for project inputs, project strategy, project representation and coordination with local, national and international counterparts. The Team Lead has overall programmatic and fiscal responsibility for the project, including achieving project results, effectively communicating accomplishments, producing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with the donor organization’s regulations (e.g., quality and timeliness of deliverables).
