Haramaya University is a partner in the Foodborne Disease Epidemiology, Surveillance and Control in African Low- and Middle- Income Countries (LMIC) (FOCAL) project, co-funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), led by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). This multidisciplinary, international research program will be exploring causes and sources of diarrheal illness in several African countries, including Ethiopia. The project aims at taking a One Health approach that links public health surveillance data with pathogen occurrence data from food, animals and the environment, to provide the best evidence of the health impact of, and the relative contribution of different sources for foodborne infections in African low- and middle-income countries.

Main Duties and responsibilities:
A successful competent candidate will be responsible for arranging transportation and other logistics for field and laboratory works. He/she will facilitate requests, procurement of laboratory materials and office supplies to the project; and will also carry out other related activities that given by the project director.
Place of work: Haramaya University both main campus and College of Health and Medical Sciences, Harar campus
Type of employment (position): A full time for one year with possible extension and is subjected to 6 month probation period.
Qualifications: BSc or BA and above
