WFP Ethiopia is working with the government and other humanitarian partners to strengthen the resilience of Ethiopia’s most vulnerable population and to chart a more prosperous and sustainable future for the next generation. The Country Office also supports programmes that use food assistance to empower women, transform areas affected by climate change and keep children in school. It aims to contribute to Ethiopia’s five-year development agenda, the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP), through which the Government combats food insecurity.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
The World Food Programme office in Pugnido sub office is currently seeking to fill an internship position. Pugnido Field Office is one of the remote Field Office located in Gambella region and functioning under Gambella Sub Office. General food distribution, nutrition intervention, school feeding programme and livelihood assistance are key monitoring areas in Pugnido. The monitoring covers two refugee camps and surrounding host communities. There are four general food distribution centers, five nutrition food distribution centers, seven school feeding centers exists for monitoring inside the refugee camps and livelihood activities inside and surrounding host communities to be monitored.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Volunteer/Intern will be under the direct supervision of the Programme assistant under the overall supervision of the Head of field office, the intern should have willingness to work in the field of food security, livelihood and nutrition by catering in the specific duties and responsibilities:
The duration of assignment cannot be more than 8 months. Up on onboarding successful candidate will be given a one-month trial period and offered a Volunteer contract, then the contract will be converted to an intern depending on demonstrated successful performance, adaptability and agility.
